Chuck is the Founder and CEO of Instant Access Networks, LLC (IAN) since 2003. IAN is a consulting and R&D firm that produces independently tested solutions for EMP protected micro-grid systems and equipment shelters for telecommunications networks and data centers. IAN collaborates with 40 companies to execute Phases II and III of its completed SBIR Phase 1 contract with DTRA on EMP-protected microgrid systems.
Chuck’s more than 30 years of finance and technology experience includes over 20 years of high-tech start-up leadership. He competently managed a venture capital service facilitating due diligence of over 200 deals resulting in $2B of financing. He successfully brought computer systems and telecom services to the market in half the time of nationwide competitors. Over his career he has received six patents in telecommunications, computer mass storage and electromagnetic pulse protection. A patent for a smart micro-grid controller is pending.
Chuck serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Electromagnetic Pulse Special Interest Group (EMP SIG), a national program he founded in 2011 for InfraGard. He actively participates on the Critical Infrastructure Protection and Recovery Working Group of the International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE), which addresses the need for resilience of critical infrastructure. Chuck continues to work with members of national, state and local government, including the White House, Congress, DoD, DHS, DOE, and HHS as they pursue initiatives to provide critical services such as communication, transportation, water, and health-care during a prolonged power outage. Chuck received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign.
