Assistant Professor, began teaching full-time in Sinclair’s Computer Information Services department in 2013. Mr. Renegar holds a master’s degree in Information Technology and many certifications including A+ and Linux Foundation certifications. Mr. Renegar is responsible for Sinclair’s CIS 2731 A+ Hardware & Software class where he will be responsible for strengthening security concepts by integrating the Open-Air PCs case building into the curriculum. Mr. Renegar has over ten years of experience supporting users in both IT and Audio-Visual production. Previously, he was Coordinator of Multimedia Event Support at Sinclair where his responsibilities included support of IP-based video conferencing systems, support of Crestron distributed AV systems, and developing and maintaining college-wide procedures and documentation. During this time, he developed a passion for a better understanding of security. He took several classes and ultimately joined and later served on the board of the Ohio Information Security Forum, a local user group dedicated to the education of security topics. As a professor, his passion continues as manager of Sinclair’s student-run PC repair shop, the SCOPE (Students Correcting Open-door PC Emergencies)Lab. This PC repair lab is available free of charge for students, faculty, and staff and provides virus removal and training to users, strengthening their security.
