Mingguo Hong received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington in 1998. He worked as a power systems engineer at GE Grid Software Solution in Redmond, Washington and a Principle Market Engineer at the Mid-continent Independent System Operator (MISO) in Carmel, Indiana before joining the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in 2012. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department at the CWRU in Cleveland, Ohio. His research interests are in power system analysis, electricity markets and smart distribution systems.
